Humanitarian Projects — 2015 to Today
Summary:
Funding of a school canteen.
Food-support and nutrition-education programmes.
Planting of fruit trees, including papaya and coconut trees, in school grounds.
Distribution of bags of rice to nearby communities.
Construction of two permanent schools.
Support for a sewing workshop/school.
Launch of the Basic Healthcare Centre (CSB) project.
Support to primary schools
The association purchases school supplies locally and provides food and water support. Each year, financial assistance is also provided to teachers at both schools.
Each school has received a laptop and smartphone, and two additional solar panels have been installed. Les Papiers de l’Espoir supports the association in these initiatives. An agreement has also been signed with Érada secondary school to provide financial support to pupils who previously attended the two sponsored primary schools.
Basic Healthcare Centre project
After completing the two schools, two canteens and sanitation facilities, the association began developing a Basic Healthcare Centre:
A tripartite agreement was signed between the Regional Health Director in Ambovombe, the Ministry of Health and the association. Approval from the Ministry of Public Health was received on 24 November 2023.
A local tender process was initiated for construction of the CSB. Two quotations were received and evaluated by the association’s executive committee.
A service agreement was signed with Kitana in April 2024.
The rural healthcare facility is being built near the first school in Ankazomagnitse and is intended to serve approximately 22 surrounding hamlets. It will include seven rooms, among them a delivery room, midwives’ office, consultation room, paramedical office and pharmacy.
The Malagasy Ministry of Health has committed to providing medical equipment, a doctor and the operational management of the CSB. MétisMalagasy is responsible for construction, donation of the land and delivery of the completed facility.
To complete the project, we still need your support. A fundraising campaign will help finance the final phase of construction.
